That way we can all look forward to the time when we can once again gather and make more memories with the Village Hall as the backdrop.Stay safe everyone. ... See MoreSee Less

Rest assured though that we will be working hard to ensure we can reopen safely once given the go ahead. It has been a very difficult year for everyone and the first few weeks of 2021 may continue in this vein. In the meantime the Trustees of the Village hall wish you all a happy Christmas however you are spending it Please continue to look out for each other, especially the elderly, vulnerable and those who now face Christmas without loved ones. Well lockdown 2 is due to end next week and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be able to open our doors once again to our hirers. This will however depend upon which tier we are put into, so watch this space for an update to this post.Like many village halls, lockdown and covid restrictions have seriously affected our income this year and it was interesting to see an item on the BBC news earlier today on one village's solution. I have added a link to the video. Village halls are the life blood of any village and it has been so sad that ours had to close once again just when a semblance of normality was returning. Here's hoping 2021 will be a much better year all round. twitter.com/i/status/1331511943283302401““Without the income, it’s just going to fall down” People who run village halls tell #BBCBreakfast they're worried the venues won’t survive the pandemic. t.co/aYtDW0CaCw t.co/1lXER2ppss ... Good news, we are opening our doors again on Monday 7th September 2020 after closing them 169 days ago and can now welcome back our existing hirers and clubs. Lots of changes have been going on behind the scenes to make your visit to the halls safe, comfortable and warm. We are Covid-19 safe and compliant but due to the current Government Guidelines and the restrictions put in place the number of people able to attend have been reduced to allow for social distancing. Hand sanitising stations are available on entry and in each of the halls and users are encouraged to use them on arrival. It will be so nice to see people using the hall again as we understand how important it is for people to be able to exercise and socialise within the Village whilst staying Covid safe.We will hopefully be able to take individual one off bookings within in the next few weeks.Watch this page for further announcements. ... Our hall has old world charm with modern facilities. We are situated in the heart of East Preston Village many organisations use our hall for regular activities and classes. We also host many types of one off events such as weddings receptions, christenings, and parties for both children and adults, dances, coffee mornings and afternoon teas, fairs and exhibitions.

We have two rooms for hire

  • The Miller Barn – which is 62ft x 19ft – it is possible to seat 200 or 115 with tables
  • The Warren Room – which is 46ft x 16ft – seating 140 or 70 with tables

The hall complex is centrally heated, with many power points and is completely accessible for disabled people, including a hearing loop and disabled toilet facilities. Other facilities include a Public Address system. The halls have a public entertainment licence, and are regularly inspected for safety, etc.

The kitchen has ovens, hotplates, a double and a small sink, a large fridge and ample workspace. There is plenty of white china for a coffee morning or afternoon tea.

The buildings were originally a local farm, if you are interested in the history click here.

In 1981 they were converted to use as a village hall for the benefit of the inhabitants of East Preston and Kingston, and today are run by a body of self governing volunteers. In recent years the building has been refurbished and redecorated.

Outside there is a car park reserved for hirers and a public car park is situated on the North side of the building by the entrance to the Recreation Ground.

If you would like to hire one or both halls for an event you can check our regular bookings chart to see if either of the halls are free. One off events are not shown, so a call to our bookings answer phone 07591 480815 or email our booking line on bookings@epkvh.co.uk

You can book online or you can download a set of hire forms. If you download the forms please complete them and post to the address on the form.

We hope you will come and enjoy our hall with us, we look forward to seeing you soon.

We are a registered charity and our charity number is 293292.
